A Stetson Hat makes a premium, high quality cowboy hat collection that was founded by John B. Stetson in 1865. It's nuts to think that this mutli-million dollar brand name was started in a small rented room with $10 of fur. A lifetime of work has resulted in a hat factory in Garland, Texas. Stetson is now owned by Hatco. Hatco owns other famous brands such as Charlie 1 Horse and an American classic, Resistol. Stetson hats has been around for 130 yearsand they now produce straw hats, wool hats (both fedora and cowboy), fur cowboy hats, and hats made out of most other popular materials.
A Resistol Hat makes an all American Classic cowboy hat founded by Harry Rolnick and E.R. Byer. E.R. Byer was a big investor in the business who apparently was into fashion of the day (it was in a fashion to wear a cowboy hat). Harry Rolnick was a cowboy hat seller. They came together to make an all American Cowboy Hat line, Resistol Cowboy Hats in the 1920s. They produced both wool, felt and straw hats out of Dallas, TX.
Charlie 1 Horse Hat
Charlie 1 Horse Cowboy Hats are unique in the fact they believe the hat band makes the cowboy hat. They appeal to young and old cowboys. Their cowboy hats include crushable wool, felt and straw hat (s). You can generally spot a Charlie One Horse hat just by its band or the way it is colored but most importantly, you can identify the hat by the fire-branded horseshoe branded on the western cowboy hat.
